Isola di antichi tesori e anche di moderno divertimento, Cipro unisce paesaggi marittimi di grande bellezza a siti archeologici immersi nel verde. Dalle chiese alle tombe dei Re, fino a Nicosia, la capitale racchiusa nelle antiche mura veneziane, il tour a Cipro è ricco di fascino immortale.

Giorno 1: Larnaca - Limassol
Partiamo per le vacanze a Cipro. All’arrivo, abbiamo il trasferimento in albergo a Limassol dove potremmo disporre di eventuale tempo libero prima dell’incontro con la guida/accompagnatore locale e della cena.

Giorno 2: Limassol - Paphos - Limassol
Cominciamo la scoperta dell’isola dal distretto di Paphos con la visita guidata della quattrocentesca chiesa di Agia Paraskevi e del Monastero di Ayios Neofytos. Proseguiamo con i Mosaici di Paphos e in particolare con la splendida pavimentazione della Casa di Dionysos. Dopo il pranzo visitiamo le tombe dei Re, risalenti al IV secolo a.C., e la chiesa della Pangia Crysopolitisa. Cena in serata.

Giorno 3: Limassol - Curium - Omodos - Limassol
Al mattino raggiungiamo il sito archeologico di Curium, di cui visitiamo l’anfiteatro greco-romano e la casa di Eustolio, poi proseguiamo al Santuario di Apollo Ylatis e all’originale castello di Kolossi. Raggiungiamo Omodos per il pranzo e nel pomeriggio andiamo alla scoperta di questo centro vinicolo e del monastero di Stravos. Al rientro ci godiamo un po’ di tempo libero prima della cena.

Giorno 4: Asinou - Kakopetria - Galata - Limassol
Proseguiamo il viaggio a Cipro dirigendoci ad Asinou per visitarne la chiesa. Raggiungiamo la zona di Kakopetria per il pranzo in ristorante e la visita delle chiese bizantine, quella di Ayios Nicolaos e quella di Panagia di Pothithou a Galata. Nel pomeriggio ritorniamo a Limassol per la cena.

Giorno 5: Larnaca - Lefkara - Limassol
Partiamo alla scoperta di Larnaca sostando lungo il percorso nel sito archeologico di Chirokitia. Visitiamo poi la chiesa bizantina di Angeloktisti, la moschea di Hala Sultan e la chiesa di San Lazaros. Dopo il pranzo in una taverna tradizionale ci immergiamo nella caratteristica atmosfera di Lefkara. Cena in serata.

Giorno 6: Nicosia - Limassol
Raggiungiamo la capitale Nicosia racchiusa dalle antiche mura veneziane e ultima città al mondo divisa da un muro. Visitiamo con la guida l’Arcivescovado, con la vasta collezione di icone del museo Bizantino, la Cattedrale di San Giovanni e il Museo Nazionale. Dopo il pranzo in ristorante attraversamento del check point, visita del caravanserraio Buyuk Han, una delle più famose opere architettoniche del periodo ottomano. Si prosegue per la Cattedrale di Santa Sofia, trasformata in Moschea. Ceniamo in serata in ristorante..

Giorno 7: Famagusta - Limassol
Incontriamo la guida e andiamo alla scoperta della parte settentrionale dell'isola, quella turco-cipriota. La prima sosta è a Famagusta, città medievale cinta da mura di cui visitiamo la cattedrale di San Nicolao, trasformata nella moschea di Lala Mustapha Pasha, e il Castello di Otello, governatore veneziano di Cipro. Ci godiamo un po' di tempo libero per una passeggiata individuale e ci ritroviamo per il pranzo. Nel pomeriggio proseguiamo per Salamina dove visitiamo il teatro, l'anfiteatro, il gimnasio, l'agorà, le terme, la palestra e il convento di San Barnaba, fondato nel V secolo e ricostruito nel 1756. La cena ci attende a Limassol.

Giorno 8: Larnaca
In base all’orario del volo potremmo disporre di tempo libero prima del trasferimento per l’aeroporto e del rientro in Italia.
